when i look and see that it’s been 5 weeks since i’ve posted anything, i feel a teensy bit guilty, a bit like a slacker, and then, after i rewind, juuuuust fine. while i love documenting what’s happening at the long house, i also love that life is slowing down a little bit, we’re embracing the change that is coming around the corner, while at the same time staying true to the makers that this house asks us to be.
with just few weeks until lil’ puddin’ joins us as the newest resident, we have been quite busy with projects geared just towards him or her. we also made the pretty huge decision recently to take the summer and rather than starting any major projects (like, say, leveling the patio, building a screened in porch, etc) we are going to finish details inside that never really got addressed as we plowed through the remodel last year, as well as plan the next steps for the outdoor space, and just maintain for a little while while we enjoy our new family (from a lumpy crooked patio).
i’ll have a full post up tomorrow with the (gasp!) finished nursery, until then here are a few shots of a couple pieces beej worked on for his new little friend, practicing hand cut joints in the woodshop (finished products revealed tomorrow!):
