rock-a-bye

rock-a-bye

so here it is, the newest room at the long house. truth be told, i’d love to move into it if the kid isn’t wild about it. then again, when the kid starts flexing his of her design muscles, i can hardly wait to see how this room morphs. here’s a reminder of the original mood board we pulled together:

and the finished product:

entry: paint by numbers collection from 1998-present; light switch plate cover from a girlfriend’s home in shawnee; chair (reupholstered) and brass table from revival furniture, john deere from great grandpa bill, bookshelves handmade by beej/pa; chalkboard paint 50/50 mix of black and moonstone by rustoleum; cream and metallic wall treatment hand painted

the library: poplar and oak shelves made by beej; books collected at the baby book shower

steamer trunk turned toy chest: trunk belonged to beej’s great-great-grandparents, brought here from germany…it’s been waiting many years to find a new useful life, we think it’s perfect here!

changing table handmade by beej…no power tools! dresser from revival, leather pulls cut from the studio’s leather stash, hex bolts spray-painted brass

crib handed down from a couple of the sweetest little girls

grow strong decal from shanna murray decals (via mash handmade)

exit: thanks for coming! we’ll have posts on some of the details coming up in the next few days, while we dream about this room’s new resident!

(and thanks to beej’s sister for the photos!)
