Mary Osmundsen loves drawing more than anything else in the whole world but she also exhibits large-scale public art, video, sculptural installations and relational works. She just moved into a new house in Wauwatosa, WI and is dreaming of building a studio overlooking her garden. By day she is Program Coordinator for Artists Working in Education, a small non-profit that funds and manages artist residencies in Milwaukee Public Schools. She gets to meet a lot of fascinating elementary and middle school children who all want to be artists when they grow up.
Mary earned a BFA from The Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design in photography and an MA and MFA in InterMedia from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. She has also studied at the Lacoste School of Arts in France, the Bauhaus University, Weimar, Germany and Guanxi University in Guilin, China.
