as a kid i was always making stuff. paintings, major creations with clay (the kind dug up from the backyard) and anything that required lots and lots of glue. i had so many misadventures involving my art and my mother's rugs and furniture that the family motto became "don't worry, we can put a flower over it". she let me get away with it though because besides being a famous hula dancer the only thing i ever wanted to be when i grew up was an artist. i got my BFA in painting but for some time my focus has been assemblage pieces. last year i started making a collection of pipe cleaner desserts i call CRUMZ. i really like the tactile aspect of creating them. it's kind of like tasting through your fingertips, and of course there are copious quantities of glue...
