Through countless hours of focus groups and billions spent on marketing we at Art Reco found that people like things produced in small numbers. Our handmade products reflect excellent craftsmanship and limited supply (or custom creations) make each piece as personal and unique as the people buying them.
Why the name Art Reco? Art Reco is more than a pun on the art deco movement. Our theory is to reconstruct, recompose, and reconceptualize visual mediums to create something unique and experimental. We draw our inspiration from everyday life and find ways to change things that often go overlooked or taken for granted in an attempt to get people to stop and take a closer look at them.
Art Reco is the team of Jason and Michelle. Jason does his best to think wrong in an attempt to avoid expected conclusions and arrive at new experiences. Often lost in his own thoughts, he is sure to make time to bring them to life. He enjoys making to-do lists almost as much as he enjoys crossing things off of them. He is currently crossing off "write awkward biography in third person".
Michelle is the clever crafter behind the crocheted handbags and jewelery. When she's not tangled in a ball of yarn you can find her at a street market, digging around for old cameras. She learned a lot of things while staying in the Philippines, but prides herself most on her sungka skills and ability to properly carve a pineapple.
